Welcome to Outlaw Acres. We’re three partners in the boer goat industry
with an equal and avid passion for what we do. It began with Stephanie,
who had always fancied the idea of having a few goats. Luke, wanting
nothing to do with milking dairy goats, began research into boer goats in
early 2004. He shared his new passion with Stephanie, who quickly joined
in, and the two of them persuaded their friend Kendra with little
difficulty.
Our first seven bred does were purchased in
August 2004. After the first kids were born…quadruplets, if you can
believe it…we completely succumbed to the power of our goats. They are
extremely wonderful, entertaining and often outspoken animals.
Luke and Stephanie have spent their entire
lives around farming with pigs, cattle (both dairy and beef) and other
species to a smaller degree. Kendra was a “city girl” with some childhood
experience around horses. She is trying hard to catch up with Luke and
Steph’s experience and the goats have been more than willing to help with
that endeavor.
Stephanie and Kendra are both respiratory
therapists, which helps with the medications and general medical needs of
the goats. Luke has a good eye for the boer goat breed and a head for the
business. He helps to keep the girls grounded when they want to spend all
day just playing with the kids (the goat variety of course).
Our farm is located in northeast Indiana.
We’d be happy to show our farm to anyone interested in boer goats or who
may be looking to get started with some of their own. Just call ahead,
we’re almost always around. We often have a few animals for sale and we
breed several of our does to kid from late November through January to get
kids for the show wether market. We will sell out of wethers early.
THANKS FOR STOPPING BY OUR SITE.
